I recently had the pleasure of working with local business Ironwood Tile & Plumbing helping them develop their new graphic identity! Ironwood Tile & Plumbing has been the rare exception in this tumultuous economy, as they tend to trend ever upwards in their clientele base as well as quality of craftsmanship. While everyone is cutting corners to save cost, Ironwood Tile & Plumbing remains a quality outfit, being happy with nothing less than the best end product. When they asked me to help them develop a website for their company, I suggested that we start with a logo overhaul, so as to have a better starting point for true continuity throughout their brand.
Keeping in mind their relentless focus on quality, as well as their many years of experience in the business, I knew I wanted to go with something classic, with a southwest flare, as they are based in southern Arizona. While I have never been a fan of southwestern art (turquoise, kokopellis and  drab landscape paintings) I do love some of the graphic elements when incorporated in juxtaposition to more classical elements. After only a couple concepts I hit on what I believed the perfect shape for their graphic representation. After a little further refinement, we settled on the logo displayed above. I am proud and very happy to add this to mark to my portfolio. They were also ecstatic with the inspiration it  fostered in me for the completion of their website.
